Light should be placed where needed and not indiscriminately cast without thoughtful consideration. We observe a space get inside it, draw it, choosing not merely to equip with light fittings but rather to illuminate it. It is the space that is illuminated, not the lamp, light is part of architecture and so is shade. When the sun sets the architecture is brought back to life under another kind of light.
